Lake Erie

We experienced our first MAJOR Ooopppss riding into Youngstown Friday blindly following the GPS only to have it take us 7+ miles past our hotel and into a less than ideal part of town.  So we had to double back, which did allow us to ride a tailwind for a few minutes, and find out hotel.  This Ooopppss consequently added a handful more miles to our Saturday ride to Madison where we were fortunate enough to stay with friends.
We woke up to below 50 degree weather and wore our jackets all day long!?!
Heading due North,  which may seem strange to some folks given our primary objective is to cross North America, but we are also making our way to the Northern Tier Bike Route that requires increases in latitude at stratigic times during our travels.  This decision today, however, put us right back in line with Northerly winds blowing cool, crisp air off Lake Erie
We learned that you do not get perfect temperatures without a bit of a head wind and figured a southerly tailwind would bring us sweltering temps from the Gulf of Mexico.  We enjoyed the cool temperatures, knowing it will not last, and spent our day feeling much like
We stayed in protected bike paths
Cruising due North
We had second breakfasts at O'Callaghan's in Warren, OH
And grabbed two BLTs with fries that we stuffed into our bags for lunch
We dined in Rock Creek where we headed west...loving those chairs!
And rode through Footville
We made it to our friends house in Madison and had a fantastic home cooked meal
Listened to some live music
And possed for some photos
Good times!!  Thanks to the Worthy's for all the hospitality!!

Be well.  Until next time.
