Toledo!

This one was a bit of a stretch for us but we wanted to get to our destination before the heat dome arrived on Tuesday. We woke up to a cool, drizzling morning, which is perfect weather for a bike ride, and said goodbye to Lorain, Ohio

The Ariel Broadway Hotel had a limited breakfast but they did have our two favorite bar flavors and they we super nice folks. We peddled a few miles down the road and stopped at The Nest for a hot breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes, fruit, eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast, coffee and hot chocolate!!!

Henry has been rocking the lucky 80s vintage Pearl Izumi jacket that somehow used to fit me. He is showing it off here on the calm shores of Lake Erie

And we passed back and forth who was confident about finishing the day in Toledo. This was a shot of one of my turns...

We had a long way to go today so we did not have much time for photos. We followed roads for most of the morning and then jumped on the North Coastal Inland Trail

We put in our Air pods and took turns pulling. I was listening to the first set from 5 June 2022 (set two had the 30+ minute Sand) and Henry was listening to Kendrick Lamar.

We passed some old fields and heard some Savannah Sparrows

And spent the day in an ag dominated landscape

We grabbed some PB&J smoothies in Fremont, OH

Before we peddled into downtown Toledo arriving later than usual and we grabbed some food from the rooftop restaurant

We are getting a groove going during our rides with me blocking the wind during the early part, and I would argue majority, of the ride and Henry, "The Closer", pulling us through the homestretch. It takes about 65 miles for The Closer to warm up but once he does he can surely power us home!

I am comfortably tucked in behind Henry here saving 33.333% of whatever is left my energy and trying not to drop my phone.
