We had some interesting views from our St. Cloud hotel....AMERICA!
We saw groups of people taking pictures of themselves in a parking garage...
And here is a picture of a person taking a picture of people taking pictures of themselves...
We were excited for some fresh content!

 We headed northwest out of a sleepy St. Cloud on a Sunday morning...
Road along the Mississippi River...
And made our way to the Lake Wobegon Trail.  We will ride this trail all the way to Fergus Falls...

 Another wonderful green tunnel...
We came across this old caboose along the way which put 'Jack Straw' in my head for awhile...

Great Northern out of Cheyenne

From sea to shining sea...


Until we took a break in Melrose...


Where we found some large feed storage systems...


The trail was nice...


With some prairie plants...


And grasslands...


We even saw a prairie dog but it seems like we are not quite in their range. Look closely as you can see him looking at us from that little brown spot on the grass...

We tried to beat the rain to Alexandria but we were cooled off with a nice summer rain the last 10 or so miles of the ride...

    You should have taken a different trail. Or at least spray painted over that sign!

Fergus Falls, MN

The pictures from today are beautiful but this was probably the hardest ride we have had the entire adventure.  We pulled out of Alexandria.... Got back on the trail and headed northwest to Fergus Falls... It was great when we had the green tunnel but those stretches of trail were few and far between (we already miss the deciduous forest!)... And when we were not in the green tunnel we were totally exposed... We took a break in Dalton (the little blue dot above is us)...where the strapped down trash can was even blown over! And then headed back into the wall of wind... We did not even have to use our brakes to stop! We arrived in Fergus Falls totally spent... Having earned every foot of these 51.2 miles...

Libby, MT

A little heat wave is hitting the Northwest and we certainly felt it on the ride into Libby, MT... We road the rest of the length of Lake Koocanusa... All the way to the Libby dam that created the lake... Where we met up with Bonnie and got some cold drinks before making our way to Libby... Here, Henry is letting me know what the best Gatorade flavor is and why and I think I finally get it... After the Libby Dam, we road along the Kootenai River... We were hot and exposed before getting to the City of Eagles, Libby, MT... And hiked out to these falls on the west side of town this am... Planning to hide from the heat and take a few rest days until it hopefully breaks on Monday...
