Theodore Roosevelt, NP

We've been trying to beat the heat out here so we got a relatively early ride in at Theodore Roosevelt National Park...

Teddy's adventures in North Dakota set the stage for him becoming president and establishing the National Park Service which became a model for the rest of the world....go Teddy!

The park has some large prairie dog towns...

Full of prairie dogs...
We took many, many pictures of prairie dogs which are super cute but also cannibals.  The park road was spectacular with lots of views and ups and downs....
And we only needed our small bags to carry water.  Our first road ride without the bags made us feel like we were superhuman!  But we were still a little nervous passing herds of bison...
This one had his back to us so we could sneak past undetected...
And this one was posed in iconic fashion...

Nice ride and we mostly beat the heat...
